Apart from its significance for the knowledge of the art and topography of Belgrade in the previous century, the book Belgrade Landscapes in 20th Century indirectly throws light on the breadth of the collections of the Belgrade City Museum. A selection of 402 landscapes from one of these collections found their place in this book. The book features paintings by Nadežda Petrović, Živorad Nastasijević, Uroš Predić, Beta Vukanović, Đorđe Andrejević Kun, Bora Baruh, Jovan Bijelić, Milo Milunović, Petar Lubarda, Ivan Tabaković, Ljubica–Cuca Sokić, Miloš Gvozdenović, Aleksandar Deroko and many others. By giving a chronological review, the author enabled readers to trace the development of Belgrade, not only of its centre but also of its peripheral parts.
