Description

The travel guides used as the source of information about Belgrade for the purpose of this book were published between 1800 and 1944. It all began with a few scarce words in travellers' guides in English and French, to end up with detailed description of the city in booklets in German in the early 20th century, all through 1944. The book is abundantly illustrated with images of Belgrade: photographs, picture postcards, advertisements, tourist posters, plans, etc.
