The money circulating during the German occupation is also known as the "Nedić money". After the Kingdom of Yugoslavia was torn apart, the occupying authorities demanded for a government of Serbia to be established. General Milan Nedić took up the unrewarding office of prime minister. The Cabinet was answerable to the German Military Command. The reserve issues of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia deposited at the central bank were overprinted and the money flow restored.
